AAC Evaluations
We offer comprehensive AAC evaluations, device recommendations, and walk you through the funding process for insurance to get your loved one access to the communication tools they need. AAC evaluations are offered in-person for clients in Bountiful and the surrounding areas and virtually throughout Utah. In-person evaluations are conducted in your home. Here's how our AAC eval process works.
Pre-Assessment
We complete intake interviews with all stakeholders, including parents, therapists, teachers, the child, etc. We review current communication skills and future needs.
Assessment
During the assessment, we determine which access method is most appropriate and consider any specific features and/or accessories that might be needed. This is done during a play-based assessment.
Device Trials
After obtaining a device, we begin trialing a program for at least 4-6 weeks. We use this time to provide modeling, collect data, and make any necessary changes.
Funding
After the trial, we explore funding options for devices. We also create a plan to continue implementing AAC with all stakeholders.
